There are few unmarked graves and I found only twelve with burial dates in the 1800’s. The oldest was Lewis J. Eeveler, Sr. who died in February, 1883.

It is very easy to find this cemetery. If you travel north from Granbury, leave on North Houston Street and continue north on Highway #51. The cemetery will he on the west side of the highway just 4 miles from the railroad tracks in Granbury. There is plenty of parking space.

The cemetery is well kept and is used regularly for burials as family members “come home again.”

The Fairview community still has an active Baptist Church just a short distance further north on the east side of the highway.

This survey was completed in the latter part of October, 1989.

Marv Kate Durham

ALDERSON, R.
