Let me introduce My Self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raymond E. \u201cRay\u201d Counts, I live in North Richland Hills and am familiar with the operation in the Old Granbury Train Station.  They have been a lot of help in the past, so I feel obligated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a gg grandson of Henry Leyde Counts who moved to Morgan Mill in the early 1850s.\u00a0\u00a0One of the homes still stands a few hundred yards South of the Morgan Mill Township on the Paluxy River.\u00a0\u00a0Oscar and Jo Ann Ball live in it today.\u00a0\u00a0The remains of an old cabin South of the river is the old home place of Henry\u2019s son, Joel Harvey Counts.\u00a0\u00a0A swinging bridge once spanned the river between the homes on the old wagon road between Stephenville and Mineral Wells.\u00a0\u00a0Joel Harvey Counts married Amanda Caraway, daughter of\u00a0Jesse Caraway<\/a>\u00a0founder of the Rock Church community in the South West part of Hood County.\u00a0\u00a0Her brother,\u00a0Louis Jasper Caraway<\/a>, was the attorney for Nicholas Counts in his plea for clemency for the shooting related in Granbury History.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of Henry Leyde Counts homes was located on the East side of Stephenville where he owned 350 acres of land.  Land for the East Side Cemetery near the corner of hwys 377 and 281 was donated by his daughter Ruth Jane \u201cCounts\u201d Frey.  He is buried there today.  J.B. Frey still lives on part of this land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am directly related to the following families from that area: Counts, Larner, Caraway, Frey, Holt, Nichols and Trout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
