  T. P. McGuire's fine Clydesdale horse "Sampson" died last week from some peculiar malady that our local veterinarians could not control. He was a magnificent animal and we regret his loss, both to the owner and the interests of the county.

  In the District Court last week Albert Helsley, who was on trial when we went to press, was found guilty and given two years in the reformatory. This was the last criminal case.

  Sheriff Cleveland of Parker County was here yesterday after M. V. Johns, convicted here of horse theft and wanted in Parker County for the same crime.

  Baker & Doyle have opened up a millinery dept. in the upper story of their building, with Mrs. Enos, from St. Louis, in charge of the hat trimming.

  Judge Straughan, District Attorney Daniel, B. M. Estes, T. O. Martin and Lee Riddle and wife went down to Glen Rose last Sunday afternoon to attend the district court.

  A jolly party composed of Misses Alice McGaughy, Fannie Lyle, and Josie Kerr, escorted by Messrs. Charles Blakeney, Lige Davis and John Tandy, made a wagonette journey to Lipan last Sunday.
