Mace Martin Robinett was born January 13, 1862, in Blount County, Alabama. He moved with his family to Ellis County, Texas, at the age of 13. On January 11, 1882, he was married to Miss Addie Belle Rosson at Mountain Peak, Ellis County. Four children were born to this union, the first dying in infancy. Two daughters and one son grew to adulthood and raised families.

The Robinett family moved to Granbury early in 1900 and lived on a farm in the Stockton Bend community. The entire family was converted in a revival conducted under a brush arbor, and all were baptized the same Sunday afternoon by Reverend Ben Davis in Strouds Creek near Thorp Spring. Very soon after his conversion he felt the call to preach. He said that as he was following the plow, he constantly heard a voice, "Go preach." He was ordained by the Granbury Church early in 1907 and served many of the churches of the association as pastor, including the First Baptist Church of Granbury. He also served some time as Associational Missionary. He was pastor for several years at Friona and other churches in West Texas. He died at his home in Floydada December 11, 1949. His body was returned to Granbury for burial.

He presided over the Paluxy Association as Moderator during the annual session in 1918.
