A Good Man Passes Away

Mr. C.B. Glenn died at his home in this city last Sunday night at 10:40 and the services were conducted at the family home Monday afternoon by Eld I H Teel, followed by interment at the cemetery with Masonic honors.

His death was not unexpected as he had been in bad health for a number of years.

Deceased was aged 75 years and 22 days. He was born in Alabama and came to Texas with his parents, W.B. Glenn and wife, when only 5 years of age. His father located at Acton when this was part of Johnson county. He was raised there and in 1876 was married to Miss Mary James, daughter of another pioneer. To them were born two daughters, both of whom died several years ago. He lived in Hood and Johnson counties all his life, a part of the time as a farmer, later as a merchant and postmaster at Godley, then engaged in merchandising at Cresson, and in 1906 came to Granbury to reside his health having given away.

Mr. Glenn is survived by his wife, granddaughter Miss Glenn Etta Thornton, 3 brothers; J M, B F and Charles Glenn and 3 sisters; Mesdames J M McPherson, S C Graham and Alice Wohlford.

Hood County never had a better citizen than Lum Glenn and the writer is proud to have numbered him as a friend for near 10 years. Honest, honorable and clean, always ready to stand up for the right, he was highly respected by all who knew him, and in their time of sorrow the family have the sincere sympathy of all.
