Glenn L. Ward was born in Abilene, Texas, November 16, 1945. He was “born again” on Easter Sunday 1957 in Colonial Hill Baptist Church, Snyder, Texas, and was baptized by the pastor, Dr. Jimmie Nelson. He was licensed to preach by the same church on May 17, 1964. He was ordained to the full work of the ministry by the Colonial Hill Church on November 13, 1966. The ordaining council was composed of Rev. Miller Robinson, Moderator; Johnny Greenfield, Clerk; Rev. John Rankin, Denver Springer, Grover Springer, Joe Shelton, and Kenneth Wilson. The ordination sermon was delivered by Rev. John Rankin.
He received his college training in Hardin-Simmons University and his theological training in Southwestern Seminary. He served Second Baptist Church, Anson, Texas, as Associate Pastor and Youth Director for two years. Afterwards he was pastor at Fort Griffin and at Clyde, Texas. Since 1974 he has been pastor of the Acton Baptist Church.
On July 15, 1966, he was married to Miss Carolyn Ruth Springer at Lenorah, Texas, with Rev. John Rankin officiating. They have three daughters.
He presided as Moderator over two annual sessions of Paluxy Association, 1978 and 1979.
