Granbury College was in operation from 1873 to 1912. The following treasure of information was located at The Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin in the spring of 2005. The book was bound and came from a store in Granbury. There were many blank pages. Only the beginning of the book was written in. The book was in good shape with no torn pages, etc.
The college had several names during its existence:
· Granbury High School, 1873 to 1881
· Granbury Literary and Commercial College, 1881 to 1883
· Granbury College, 1883
The college had also been called Granbury University Training School.

PHAINO LITERARY SOCIETY
(Young Men)
This society shall be under the direction of the Faculty, and shall conform to the rules, regulations of the College. The library shall be opened to its members during the regular scholastic year. The Librarian shall at the close of each term make a written report to the Faculty concerning the condition of library, etc.
At the close of the last term, the records, and keys shall be given to the Faculty.
ADELPHIAN LITERARY SOCIETY
(Young Ladies)
This Society shall be under the general supervision of the Faculty, and shall conform to the rules and regulations of the College.
The library shall be open to its members during the regular scholastic year. And at the close of each term, the Librarian shall make a written report to the Faculty concerning the condition of the library.
At the close of the last term, the records, keys, etc. shall be turned over to the Faculty.
