JAMES E. SCIRRATT

James E. Scirratt was born in Dallas, Texas, July 20, 1931. He was baptized by Rev. O’Dell Jamison. In 1954 he was ordained to the full work of the ministry. He received his college training in Baylor University, and his theological training in Southwestern Seminary. In 1954 he married Miss Vera Ann Wilcoxson of Amarillo. They have two sons and one daughter.

Rev. Scirratt was called as pastor of the Tolar Baptist Church in 1957, and was elected Moderator of Paluxy Association in 1959. Later he was elected Moderator of Falls and Robertson Associations. He has served as President of the Board of Trustees of San Marcos Academy, and a member of the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, Board of Directors for Latham Springs Encampment and President for one year, Director of Youth Camp and Preacher for a Campus Revival at Mary Hardin-Baylor College.

Besides his pastorate at Tolar he has served several other Texas churches. Since 1976 he has been pastor of Woodlawn Hills Baptist Church, Jackson, Mississippi.
